As a child watching my mother work two blue collar jobs - going to work before dawn and getting home after dust, I had a first-hand view of what hard work, perseverance and resilience looked like.

Throughout middle and high school, I gained and lost my confidence, questioning who I was and doubting what I could become.  In fact, I used quitting as a convenient crutch; and unfortunately, when I quit, most of the people around me quit too - all except a select few.

​

As a multi-year state champion, high school female athlete of the year, collegiate female athlete of the year, former track and field coach, and  accomplished business professional with two Masters Degrees,  I am living a dream. A dream that is rare, unexpected, improbable, outside of the norm, and statistically uncommon. I am living this dream, not because someone gave me an opportunity, but because I took advantage of opportunities. Not because I was well liked, but because I knew what I liked. Not because I ran the perfect race, but because I had coaches that helped me along the way.

Whether self-inflicted or externally driven, any number of headwinds could have deterred, deflated, or denied me; however, despite my failures and setbacks, I reshaped possible and have an authentic-inspirational story to share with the world.
